The goal of this session is for current medical students who are on a year off (either for research, to pursue an additional degree or for other reasons) to discuss the decision-making process to take time off in medicine. "Married to Medicine": Balancing Personal & Professional Life
Session Topic: "Married to Medicine": Balancing Personal & Professional Life

The goal of this session is for medical students to share their experiences balancing their personal lives and values with being in medicine. This panel is particularly social because there is very little discussions surrounding family planning, getting married, experiencing personal deaths/hardship. This panel will allow both premedical and current students to hear ways it can be done, recognizing that it is not a one size fits all, however, one's life does not need to be on hold because of medicine.

The goal of this panel is for attending physicians across various specialties to share their journey as well as discuss expected/unexpected challenges and rewards of their chosen careers. I strongly believe medical should have access to panels to learn about nuanced parts of career selection that aren’t discussed in medical school and are often not appreciated until after residency selection.

MED SCHOOL ZOOM PARTY SERIES
Previously known as the ‘The Pre Med Zoom Parties’, this series is an educational series with a usually very successful turnout. In the past, we’ve had a turnout of 300 - 600 attendees per session! The mission of the Med School Zoom Party series is to amplify the voices of students of color who have successfully gotten into medical school & are navigating their way through medical education. Empathizing with those, struggling, yet resiliently navigating through this system of medical education, I hope to use my platform to help others learn from the mistakes, wisdom, and journeys of others, including myself.
Over the course of these series, I invite medical students, faculty and physicians, with an emphasis on those who identify as BIPOC, to share their experiences as the navigate throughout various parts of the path of medicine.
